Nathan Brownson letter and bond, 1781-1785.

This collection consists of two items. The first is a letter to Nathan Brownson from Robert R. Livingston. The letter is dated November 12, 1781, and gives directions for determining war damage in Savannah, Georgia, as ordered by Congress. The second item is a bond from Henry Putnam and Nathaniel Brownson to Anthony Walton White and Raymond Demere for 13,000 pounds for the undivided half of St. Catherine's Island, dated July 8, 1785. The bond is fragile and restricted from patron use.

Nathan Brownson (May 14, 1742 – November 6, 1796) was an American physician and statesman. He served Georgia as a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1777 and as the Governor of Georgia in 1781. Nathan Brownson was a member of the Society of the Cincinnati of the State of Georgia.
